In it for the Dogs

No veil of mystery is drawn over the fact that we love summertime eats and there’s no better way to kick off the summer vibes than the birth of baseball season. Although we claim to be “sports fans”, it’s all a sham really. We’re just in it for the dogs…what I mean is, we’re in it to stuff our faces while pretending to be interested in the game simultaneously underway. When else do I feel perfectly at ease with devouring a “Doyer Dog”, the Dodgers Stadium’s prize hotdog, topped with chili, cheese, jalapenos and pico de gallo?? Truthfully, I’d feel at ease with doing that in a lot of situations but there’s something about the thrill of the crowds, overpriced swill beer and watching your team lose that makes it all the more delectable. It’s the only time that I crave soft serve ice cream like it’s the cure to some ravenous epidemic. Even with the heartburn, sleepiness and adolescent-like acne that shockingly hit your body right after consumption, it’s still one of my favorite ways to dine. Chanting baseball hymns with a mouth-full of hotdog bun is also a pretty great way to spend some time. So next time you go to a game, treat yo’ self to some stadium food…you might regret it but it’s worth the risk.
